Chaverim is a Jewish Youth Group for youth and teens in the West San Fernando and Conejo Valleys. While we are connected to both Shomrei Torah and Temple Aliyah, you don't need to be affiliated with either synagogue to join our Youth Department. We have programming for 3rd-12th graders.
Kadima is a great opportunity for kids to get involved in our Youth Department early on. We offer two days to choose from, depending on which day works best for your schedule. Our programming takes place once or twice a month from 6:15-7:15pm and allows our youth to explore their relationship with Judaism through fun activities that cultivate relationships with their peers.
Being part of our Teen program allows our teens to further connect with Judaism and take on leadership roles. We have a board comprised of our teens, that helps put on programming throughout the year. Our teens are provided with opportunities for leadership, Tikun Olam, involvement in the community, and relationship-building with peers. Our weekly events take place on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm with other events throughout the month.
The newly created Jewish Teen Learning Center will serve as a nexus for post-B’nai Mitzvah engagement as we work to cultivate the next generation of Jewish leaders. For this 2022-2023 pilot year, the program consists of just 4 Sunday Seminars, plus optional volunteer activities (community service hours will be given) for 8th-12th graders.
